Expertise in coaching is our promise to you. Our coaches are continually looking to improve their teaching skills and become more well-rounded. Our coaches are passionate about CrossFit AND helping our members improve. With our members depending on us for results, we strive to be the best coaching staff we can be.

Fitness

We cater for every fitness level, age, shape and size. Our workouts and our programming are scaled to meet every level. We aim at elite fitness in all 10 of the physical skills. We don’t want you to just be strong and have stamina, but also power, speed, flexibility, coordination, agility, balance & accuracy. You are certain to get into the best shape of your life.

Great little article about the “woopi warriors” killing it at our gym💪😊 well done guys👍👏"Woopi Warriors" a fantastic youth initiative from the Coffs Clarence Police District involving youth from the Woolgoolga sector. The program has just kicked off for Term 3 of the school calendar and already there are around 10 kids actively participating in the morning fitness classes at the Woolgoolga Police Station and Woolgoolga Crossfit Gym. A big shout out to all the sponsors including; Social Futures, Woolgoolga Lions Club, Woolworths, Woolgoolga High School and Woolgoolga Crossfit with a special thanks to the class trainer, Ian Stockton who demands a high standard in performance training. CrossFit Woolgoolga would like to invite you to come and try CrossFit. We have set up a 3 hour class on Saturday the 8th of August. The class will be an introduction to our gym, what we offer and all the basic movements we perform weekly. We will also throw in a workout or two😁😁

We realise that there is quit a lot to the sport of CrossFit, and it can be overwhelming as a newcomer. That’s why we decided to do intro sessions, so people whom is new to CrossFit gets a debrief of the sport and it’s movements and therefor feel more comfortable moving forward👍👍

Scaling the BOX JUMP👍

Many gyms would automatically default to step ups as a scaling option for box jumps. However is that a good option🤔🤔

It depends. If we are dealing with members with certain injuries which is affected doing impact of landing, YES it is a good scaling option, but other than that NO it is not.

When doing the step up we loose the dynamic part of this movement, and therefore we will not be adapt the power component that this movement is designed to build/test💪💪

So instead of stepping up just make your platform lower. We don’t have to jump 50 or 60cm for this to work.
Just stack a few plates that we are comfortable with and jump rather than stepping. Use the same plates, so we can track progression. Then when feeling comfortable we can add a bit and then over time we will reach that box height😁💪🤘

By the way, this is Marney on the video. She is 70+ and does CrossFit 6 days a week. She is absolutely awesome and a big inspiration👏👏
