Q. What is CrossFit?

A. CrossFit is defined as: “Constantly Varied, Functional Movements performed at High Intensity”

Functional Movements

Q. What the hell does that mean?

A. It means we perform an ever changing array of movements that our bodies are designed to do, in a manner that is challenging.
These ‘functional movements’ reflect how we move in everyday life; carrying our groceries, playing with our kids, running away from danger.

Constantly Varied

Q. Why is that good?

A . The variety of movements means you never get bored, but you are always seeing progress and achievements. The fact we are moving as our bodies have evolved to means that daily tasks will become easier (carrying those groceries) and working hard rewards you with greater fitness, self esteem and productivity.

High Intensity

Q. How do I know if it is working?

A. Increased work capacity over broad time and modal domains.

Q. Again, what the hell does that mean?

A. It means you will be able to do more work in less time; your body becomes more efficient and productive. That is, you become fitter, faster, stronger. This means a better life for you!
